It was 12 years ago when I first attempted oil painting.
A few things I remembered from those late Friday evening class. The exhaustion from a long work week, hours mixing up the wrong greys, the confusions followed by scrapping the greys off at the end of class.
Yet this time around, it was an eye opening experience. John is a remarkable artist (https://www.johnwilsongallery.com) and patience teacher. Generous in sharing his knowledge with the group. I had a lot of fun rediscovering this medium.
We had a few days of plein-air painting at Megalong Valley, Hartley Valley and Capertee.
So other than learning a new technique, I also discovered the magic of Blue Mountain.
and boy what a messy painter I am.
Trying out different mediums and techniques do fire up the inner urge to want to do more. I hope this keep this fire going.
